If you know me, you know I love musicals. This song has been hyping me up today. I feel ready.

I’ve been thinking about everything I’m grateful for – my friends and my family. A lot of my friends have been in my life a long time – time since high school and college. To all of you, I love you. To my amazing husband and child. You are two of the most unique individuals I know. Thanks for keeping me laughing. To my awesome neighbors who have helped me feel strong and supported. To my pets, who won’t leave my side. To my surgeons, I trust in your experience and expertise. To Dr. Gubels, who’s name gives us a chuckle. I’m even grateful for the tumor – who has taught me to slow down, to stop swimming upstream, to let the experts help, to trust in the universe.

To my mom and sister – who are the people I laugh the hardest with. I love you.

In my life I have visited so many amazing places … Tahiti, London, Paris, Florence, Bruges, Switzerland, Germany, Prague, Amsterdam, Venice, Barcelona – places that have connected me with history, like Anne Frank house, Dachau, the Louvre. I have zip lined through Costa Rican rainforests. So many awesome adventures and I’m not done yet!

On my bucket list, I am including Greece, Japan, see the Great Barrier Reef, see the migration of whales in Hawaii. There is so much wonder and beauty in the world. I also want to be in Cirque du Soleil, but that might have to be in another life!

Anyway, on the eve of this surgery, I’m just feeling grateful. I will see you all on the other side of this operation – tumor-free!
