Hello from Charlottesville, VA! It has been a busy two days – lots of appointments and imaging. Yesterday I had a 2 CT scans, an MRI and the mask fitting. Erin joined me for the first few days and now Kyl is here. Erin and I had lots of fun, ate great food and did a few spa treatments.
The people here have all been great. So reassuring and comforting. I feel like I am in very good, experienced hands. This technology is amazing! In the room will be the radiologist, my neurosurgeon and a physicist.

It wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating (although I was quite drugged up – like Parker Posey in The White Lotus!) Thank you, Erin, for getting me back to the hotel room!! 😂
So today is day one of my gamma knife treatments. We start at 10:30 ET, so please send some good vibes up into the universe. ✨
One cool thing I learned is that if my head moves even the tiniest bit, the machine will stop. That’s amazing! They don’t want to damage any of the surrounding tissue – which I greatly appreciate. That’s why the mask is so important.
Deep breaths, lorazepam and a few gummies… I’ve got this!
