Stability

Kyl here – we made it to The Day. She is probably about half way through surgery now. It’s been an early and anxious morning. Got up about 3am, to hospital by 5:30, and into the OR at 7:30. Surgery is supposed to be 6-8 hours and the first 2 hours of that were imaging and testing to finalize their game plan.

Since yesterday was about “one more day” she looked up “today” songs as we sat in pre-op this morning getting ready. “Today” by Smashing Pumpkins was all she came up up with – a solid song in my book but a little dark if you look at the meaning of the song. Let’s choose to keep things on the surface with this one. I’m not much for lyrics myself anyway.

Last night I kept thinking back to the song I know from Vegas Vacation – “Ready to Go” by Republica from the late ‘90s. I don’t know what those lyrics mean either but it’s a fun, upbeat song in my book. Nick Papagiorgio was a fantastic character as far as I’m corncerned and a great addition to the Vacation universe.

Thanks to everyone for all of your support, caring, and concern. It means a lot to both of us and has really helped Amy push through the last few days which seem to have lasted forever. I’ll update more later.
