I stumbled across a TedTalk given by this local Neurologist tonight. She’s all about headaches!

The not so great news is that I’m not really feeling relief from the blood patch. It was a wild procedure involving me going in and out of a ct scanner as they inserted a needle into the leak spot in my spine. They then drew my blood, whipped it up, mixed it with some fibrin glue and inserted it back into my spine. Then I lied flat for three days (which sounds fun, but my back was getting pretty sore and antsy). I thought I would rise from the 3 days of “flat Amy” as my neighbor called it – with the sun shining, birds chirping and headaches completely gone! Not so much.

So now what? Good question. 😂 I saw my neurologist today and we did another nerve block. I will need a repeat MRI of my spine and we are going to add in one of my brain. I’ll take all prayers and good vibes if anyone wants to send them! ✨ The date is currently 8/18 but that could change since we are adding in my brain scan. I might also reach out to this new Dr and get her thoughts. She also does a headache and yoga retreat in Mexico (something I thought I would never be interested in) which sounds great.

We did make it to Chicago last week for an awesome week of family and friends. That was so good for my soul and I love these people deeply. Thank you for really being there for me. ❤️
