All jokes aside, I am here – at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and now I’m more confused than ever.

I just met with the neurosurgeon who hadn’t seen anything about me yet and he said he’s not even convinced that there is regrowth. WHAT? It was so bizarre and not at all what I was expecting.

Colorado has a whole conference of Dr.s and Neurologists and Neurosurgeons that review each case and they all agreed that there is regrowth. They all agreed that I should get 5 doses of radiation vs. 1 to help preserve my facial nerve. The Mayo guy was like, nope! We just do one dose – with the head frame (that screws directly into your head).

I just think I need a little more warm and fuzzy from my treatment team. I hate that I’m leaving here feeling more confused than reassured.

It is a cool place though. Multiple hotels are connected to the hospital by a system of tunnels. It’s super easy to get over to the hospital right from your room.

One thing I have noticed being here is the wonderful way people treat each other. The kind smiles in the elevator , the way people hold doors for you – we are all in the same boat. Here for a reason. It just makes you want to help people. To understand their stories.
